4 By 4 Brewing Company is proud to announce that it has been awarded the Missouri Green Brewery Certification, recognizing its commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship in the craft brewing industry. The Missouri Green Brewery Certification program is designed to support breweries in reducing their environmental impact through energy efficiency, water conservation, solid waste reduction, sustainable sourcing, and community engagement. The program is provided by the Missouri Craft Brewers Guild and the Missouri Association of Manufacturers. The Ozarks Environmental and Water Resources Institute (OEWRI) at Missouri State University (MSU) provides technical resources and assists breweries through the process. “Here at 4 by 4 Brewing Company we aim to lead by example in making sustainability as refreshing as the beer we pour.” Mitchell Wilhoit Brewer at 4 by 4 Brewing Company. To achieve certification, 4 By 4 Brewing Company underwent a thorough assessment and implemented practices such as optimizing water use, utilizing energy efficient equipment, and reducing waste. The Missouri Green Brewery Certification provides public recognition for breweries that demonstrate environmental leadership, while also offering technical guidance and resources to help improve sustainability efforts. OEWRI staff work closely with breweries of all sizes to identify opportunities and provide best practices tailored to each facility’s unique operations.
