about MISSOURI BEER CUP
The Missouri Beer Cup is the ultimate beer competition hosted by the Missouri Craft Brewers Guild. Breweries from across the Show-Me State compete to showcase the best of Missouri craft beer. As the only dedicated statewide competition, the Missouri Beer Cup gives more than just bragging rights, breweries will receive valuable feedback from certified judges and marketing toolkits to celebrate the win and boost both brand visibility and taproom traffic.
Registration for the Missouri Beer Cup is open to breweries between Aug. 10 - Sept. 11, 2026. Winners will be announced at a public awards ceremony at Rose Music Hall immediately following the conclusion of the Missouri Craft Brewers Guild’s 2026 Annual Conference on Nov. 2 at Logboat Brewing Company in Columbia.
The Missouri Beer Cup is the only professional beer competition run and organized by the Missouri Craft Brewers Guild to showcase the outstanding quality and variety of Missouri craft beer and the brewers who make them.

volunteer opportunities
In addition to judges, the Missouri Beer Cup is seeking enthusiastic members of the craft beer and home brewing community to help volunteer for the competition. Our volunteer opportunities fall into two categories – Steward & Cellar Volunteer. Learn more about these two opportunities below! The window to apply to volunteer is Saturday, August 1 through Friday, September 25, 2026.
-
Stewards are responsible for shepherding flights of beers to the judging tables and generally making sure judges have everything they need to sample the beers and complete their scoresheets. As a double-blind competition, stewards will pick up anonymized flights from the entry sorting room (aka the ‘cellar’) and deliver them to the judges’ tables–neither judges nor stewards will know the identities of the beers being served/judged.
Stewards should possess: a good attitude, flexibility, & the ability to be on your feet moving from one room to another with trays of samples.
-
Cellar volunteers will play an integral role in the competition by helping with tasks like sorting and organizing beer entries and pouring flights for each round of judging.
Cellar volunteers should possess: a good attitude, the utmost discretion, the ability to lift 1-2 cases of beer at a time, and a detail-oriented nature.
Cellar volunteers are the only members of the competition team who know the identities of the beers being judged, so out of an abundance of caution, brewery owners/employees who also have beers entered in the competition will be ineligible for cellar volunteer roles. As a cellar volunteer, you will be asked to operate under the competition’s confidentiality agreement. To maintain the integrity of the competition, conversations about the beers and winners with judges, brewers, or friends should never take place, even after winners have been announced.
-
In additional to the camaraderie, fun, and industry experience that will come with being a part of the inaugural Missouri Beer Cup, Steward and Cellar volunteers are eligible to receive:
Volunteer Swag
Food & Drink during the competition: including during Saturday & Sunday judging, and Saturday evening happy hour.
Beer-To-Go: volunteers will each receive a minimum of one case of assorted Missouri craft beer.
